church history

Tower of Power United Holy Church was established in 1970 by Pastors William and Patricia Turner, who were dedicated to sharing the gospel and building a strong foundation of faith. Tower of Power UHC is apart of the Western North Carolina District of the United Holy Church of America, the oldest African American pentecostal organization in the world. What began as a small congregation rooted in prayer and unity, has grown into a thriving ministry, serving Rowan County and the surrounding communities.

Currently, Tower of Power UHC has grown over triple its size since 2018. Pastor and First Lady Williams are committed to a spirit excellence at the TOP. Ministries like Women of Purpose, TOP Worship, the Usher Board and our hospitality team ensure that we operate in excellence, both in ministry and marketplace.

The vision that God has given the Pastor and First Lady Williams is to lead by example.  God has led him to teach the people of God, to live the Word of God, through exhibiting a spirit of excellence in all walks of life.  His motto is “Accountability+ Responsibility = Excellence - You ARE somebody in Christ!
